Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 Mobile Broadband Upgrades

All models of the Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 support Mobile Broadband technology including 4G/LTE.

Mobile Broadband is a service that allows your Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 to access high-speed internet using a wireless modem in a way that is similar to your mobile phone. Like your mobile phone, you access the internet by purchasing service through a wireless carrier. The most common wireless card used to access mobile broadband is called Gobi. Gobi technology was designed to allow for any product with the embedded solution to connect to the internet anywhere a wireless carrier provides data coverage. The advantages that Gobi has over a dedicated broadband card is that you can switch between wireless carriers without having to purchase a separate broadband card for each carrier. With relative ease, you can switch your carrier between AT&T, Verizon or Sprint.

Gobi data speeds differ depending on which card you have installed. Your data speeds can also differ depending on which carrier you use and what network speeds are available in your area.

GOBI DATA SPEEDS

Gobi 1000 (2G) - up to 7.2 Mbps(DL) / up to 2.0 Mbps (UL)

Gobi 2000 (3G) - up to 7.2 Mbps(DL) / up to 5.76 Mbps (UL)

Gobi 3000 (3G) - up to 14.4 Mbps(DL) / up to 5.76 Mbps (UL)

Gobi 4000 (4G LTE) - up to 100 Mbps(DL) / up to 50 Mbps (UL)

Gobi 5000 (4G LTE) -  up to 100 Mbps(DL) / up to 50 Mbps (UL)

Due to outdated technology, some carriers no longer support 2G and 3G networks in some areas.
