Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 Keyboard Types

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 has two keyboard options, the standard mechanical keyboard, and the emissive backlit keyboard. Here’s a breakdown of what’s available:

STANDARD KEYBOARD

The standard keyboard for a Toughbook CF-53 has 87 keys, is spill resistant, and meets tough MIL-STD-810G standards. It is also resistant to drop, shock, vibration, dust, altitude, high/low temperature, temperature shock, and humidity. It does not come with a backlight.

EMISSIVE BACKLIT KEYBOARD

The optional keyboard for the Toughbook CF-53 is the emissive backlit keyboard. This keyboard incorporates a backlight that lights up the letters on the keyboard for easier nighttime viewing. The keyboard is also spill resistant and meets MIL-STD-810G standards so it is also resistant to drop, shock, vibration, dust, altitude, high/low temperature, temperature shock, and humidity. The keyboard was also one of the first keyboards to use the “chiclet” style keys.

There are several variations of the emissive backlit keyboard. These model variations include CF-WKB3138M, CF-WKB533VM, and CF-WKB313VM-U.
