1 - SD Card (SDXC)
1 - ExpressCard/34
Let’s take a look at the type devices that each of these expansion cards support:
SD Card (SDXC)
Secure Digital Xtended Capacity (SDXC) cards are flash memory cards that have the highest memory capacity. Read/Write speeds are based on the Class of the card but can run as high as 150MB/s while older SD cards ran at about 10MBs. These cards usually have a memory capacity of 32GB or larger. Common devices that use SDXC cards are car navigation systems, cellular phones, e-books, PDAs, smartphones, digital cameras, music players, digital video camcorders, personal computers and laptops.
The ExpressCard/34 is similar to the PC Card / PCMCIA slot. They share similar widths but have different types of connectors that utilize 34mm form factor. Common devices that use the ExpressCard slot are mobile broadband cards, FireWire ports, USB ports, Ethernet Ports, SATA drives, solid state drives, graphics cards, wireless cards, TV tuners, sound cards, and Common Access Card (CAC) readers.
