VGA / HDMI - FZ-55
Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 VGA / HDMI Output
Hooking up to an external monitor is easy with a Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55. The Toughbook FZ-55 includes an HDMI output and has an option for a VGA output to be installed. Let’s take a look at the differences:
VGA
The 15-pin Video Graphics Array, also referred to as VGA, is a connector that is used in a variety of devices like video cards, monitors, computers, laptops, projectors, and televisions. VGA is an older analog technology, first introduced in 1987, but is still commonly used today but is slowly being replaced by HDMI and USB-C on laptops and computers. VGA is also sometimes referred to as D-sub 15 pin.
HDMI
High Definition Multimedia Interface, also known as HDMI, is a proprietary connector capable of transmitting uncompressed high-quality video and compressed or uncompressed high quality audio between two HDMI-compliant devices. There are five different sizes of HDMI connectors with the most common connector, also referred to as Type A, being the one used on all Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 models.
The standard resolution for a Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 is 1366 x 768 pixels on standard HD models and 1920 x 1080 pixels on FHD models. Whether you use a VGA connector or an HDMI connector the maximum resolution for an external monitor is 1920 x 1200 pixels.
