Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 Keyboard Types

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 has three keyboard options, the standard mechanical keyboard, the emissive backlit keyboard, and the rubber backlit keyboard. Here’s a breakdown on what’s available:

STANDARD KEYBOARD

The standard keyboard for a Toughbook CF-29 has 87 keys, is spill resistant and was built to tough MIL-STD-810F standards. It is also resistant to drop, shock, vibration, dust, altitude, high/low temperature, temperature shock, and humidity. It does not come with a backlight.

EMISSIVE BACKLIT KEYBOARD

One of the optional keyboards for the Toughbook CF-29 is the emissive backlit keyboard. This keyboard incorporates a backlight that lights up the letters on the keyboard for easier night time viewing. The keyboard is also spill resistant and built to meet MIL-STD-810F standards. The keyboard was also one of the first keyboards to use the “chiclet” style keys. 

There are several variations of the emissive backlit keyboard. These model variations include CF-WKB3138M, CF-WKB313VM, and CF-WKB313VM-U.

RUBBER BACKLIT KEYBOARD

The other optional keyboard for the Toughbook CF-29 is the rubber backlit keyboard. This keyboard is completely water-proof and also incorporates a backlight that lights up the letters on the keyboard for easier night time viewing. The keyboard was also built to meet MIL-STD-810F standards so it is also resistant to drop, shock, vibration, dust, altitude, high/low temperature, temperature shock, and humidity.

There are also several variations of the rubber backlit keyboard. These model variations include  CF-WKB291VM, CFWKB291AM, N2ABZY000023, and N860-1435-T001-03.
