VGA / HDMI - Toughbook G2

Panasonic Toughbook G2 VGA / HDMI Output

Hooking up to an external monitor is easy with a Panasonic Toughbook G2. Although the Toughbook G2 does not include either a VGA port or an HDMI port, the Toughbook G2 does include one USB-C port on the tablet and one on the dock for video output. If your video devices only have cables that incorporate HDMI or VGA, a multitude of adapters are available.

VGA

The 15-pin Video Graphics Array, also referred to as VGA, is a connector that is used in a variety of devices like video cards, monitors, computers, laptops, projectors, and televisions. VGA is an older analog technology, first introduced in 1987, but is still commonly used today but is slowly being replaced by HDMI and USB-C on laptops and computers. VGA is also sometimes referred to as D-sub 15 pin.

HDMI

High Definition Multimedia Interface, also known as HDMI, is a proprietary connector capable of transmitting uncompressed high-quality video and compressed or uncompressed high quality audio between two HDMI-compliant devices. There are five different sizes of HDMI connectors with the most common connector, also referred to as Type A, being the one used on all Panasonic Toughbook 40 models.

HDMI-4k

The connector is physically similar to a regular HDMI connector except capable of 4k playback.

The standard resolution for a Panasonic Toughbook G2 is 1920 x 1200 pixels. Whether you use USB-C connector, a VGA adapter or an HDMI adapter the maximum resolution for an external monitor is 4096 × 2160 pixels.
